Digital clock prototype, 2006

The digital clock is an emblematic piece of technology, symbolizing regularity, predictability and control. When we use a clock, we are actually detecting or measuring change.
With this clock one can realize that this detection is illusionary and she/he is unable from one point to control even the carrier?
The only way to perceive this specific digital clock is to alienate ourselves from the object and regard it from distance, as remote users. When one approaches this mechanism its time indicator visually vanishes. The technique which has been used is based on the stereogram principles responsible for generating this illusionary effect.

Instructions for viewing: Please distance yourself from the monitor in order to read the time and move towards the screen to observe the visual phenomenon, or vice versa.

The following 15 products are part of the Bachelor Degree Final Thesis Project, titled Special constructions of artistic bookbinding and packaging with the use of new materials.
The focus point of this project is to combine innovative materials (metal, glass, plastic etc) with traditional ones been used in artistic bookbinding and packaging, in order to manufacture products which fulfil both aesthetics values and technical faultlessness.
The project (developed in 2003) consisted of 30 heterogeneous creations, manufactured manually in small quantities. The project encompass a wide range of products like CD and DVD cases, photographic albums, storage boxes, notebooks etc.

Some of those products were designed using technical specifications which enable a complete automated mechanical reproduction.
